fort wayne native, richy mon, has been an active dancer for several years now. originally a self-taught b-boy, richy has been involved with several different dance programs and companies, including the northrop dance team, where he has been a member for 4 years. at northrop, he contributed to 2 state dance runner-up titles, the ameridance national champions, high-point champions, and grand champions, as well as a golden ticket back to the u.s. finals. he has also received individual awards including the mental attitude award and "dancer of the year", twice. richy has also danced competitively at steppin' out studio of dance, where he also trained in hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, ballet and acrobatics.
aside from competitive dancing, richy trains at the fort wayne dance collective where he also instructs b-boying and privates. along with breaking, he teaches hip-hop, contemporary and acrobatics at dance studios across indiana, primarily at the dance refinery in indianapolis, in. richy has choreographed a plethora of dance routines for competitive dance teams and studios in indiana including: northrop dance team, homestead dance team, & mccutcheon dance team, just to name a few. he has also worked with touring companies, musical artists, and app developers in the last couple of years.
at this time, he is continuing to choreograph all over the country as an independent choreographer along with working towards dancing with an artist as a back-up dancer and/or teaching on faculty for a dance convention. he is currently on tour with bellamoxi dance convention as a videographer and continues to run his business at omega brand.
